Today, we're joined by UCLA guard Charlisse Leger-Walker—a four-time All-Pac-12 standout, New Zealand’s youngest-ever national team player at 16, and a key piece of the Bruins’ backcourt next season.
Amazing interview!! Charlisse is such a bright beacon of what it is to be a Bruin! Can’t wait to watch her this season! More of these please, Kris! I’m 100x more excited for WBB and this will be the most anticipated season in the modern era! 💙💛
Elite talents to an already elite core. Gianna is a great fit and Sienna’s accelerated learning curve will pay instant dividends imo. From what I’ve seen Bilic is legit and adds another level of versatility, I’ll be interested to see if she comes in adjusted like Elina from day one. I’m ok with 10 the hard way, young players get a real chance to grow with live game reps, and less headaches to manage minutes. CLW showed me that Coach Close’s methods resonate deeply with the players. Buy in will not an issue.
Cannot wait for the newcomers to get on campus and those awesome practice vids!! Also top PG recruit Autumn Fleary is supposedly on an official this weekend 👀
I’m going to try to get to a workout this summer and hopefully grab some footage. Love those vids too! Glad to hear, I didn’t think anything would change w/Fleary. We are UCLA baby the place to be!
Thank you for an excellent interview. Perhaps sets a pattern for more to come. We've been fortunate enough to watch Gabriela grow up through the lens of her brother, UCLA great Jaime; she feels like a granddaughter or niece after these years. Kiki is so mature and a wonderful person. Lauren has brought and shared the whole growing up (in the spotlight) experience - very much looking forward to adding Sienna to the family and hoping that Dylan follows. Anita has been a joy to watch play - she and Gabi are my two favorite "Swiss Army knife" players for sure. And now Charisse - we've followed the huge support she gave to her team while recuperating from her surgery - I was a fan when she was a Coug and even more so now that she's a Bruin - through and through. I second Ted's motion hoping to see ore of these interviews or a number of other players on both the men's and women's teams. A long five months ahead but these are the months that lay the foundation for all that is to come. Thanks for all you do
Loved this interview--thank you! Loved getting to know CLW a bit more. I am thoroughly looking forward to next season. I am still getting over all of the transfer out but I am sure the players we have are the ones that can get it done! Can't wait to continue cheering them on!
Incredible interview. I hope there will be more. Thank Kris. CLW is an amazing woman and baller. She also provided us valuable insight into rest of the team and coaching staff. I am so proud that they are representing UCLA. I love this team. Go Bruins.
Thanks Michael. CLW is so big time, really appreciate her taking the time to join the podcast. I am very proud of this group and how they carry themselves. Working on more interviews with players!
